Max Rashbrooke is a Wellington-based writer and public intellectual, with twin interests in economic inequality and democratic renewal. His books include Too Much Money: How Wealth Disparities are Unbalancing Aotearoa New Zealand and Government for the Public Good: The Surprising Science of Large-Scale Collective Action, both published by Bridget Williams Books. An adjunct senior research fellow in Victoria University’s School of Government, he pens a fortnightly column for The Post, writes for global outlets including the Guardian, and is a frequent commentator in the New Zealand media. He is also the co-founder of the Institute for Democratic and Economic Analysis (IDEA), a public policy think-tank. His TED.com talk on upgrading democracy has been viewed over 1m times.
